The Kensington Grove HOA Board is pleased to announce the successful completion of the recent election concerning the governing documents and rental restrictions. This election spanned eight weeks and was made possible by the tireless efforts of our dedicated election volunteers, who canvassed the neighborhood multiple times to gather ballots from non-voters. A special thanks goes to Mike and Connie Medlock, Ruth Ansel, Larry Mordan, Carolyn Ochs, Andy Hippenmeyer, Tino Marquez, Jim Hoban, Alisa Rayel, and Terry Cleveland for their extraordinary contributions.
Election Outcomes:
- Covenants and By-Laws Amendment: Approved by 236 votes to 20 (78% of ballots cast).
- Rental Restriction Proposal: Approved by 230 votes to 30 (76% of ballots cast).
Both proposals surpassed the 75% approval threshold needed for passage.
While the election required 86% participation from the community, only 40% of voters used the online ballot option.
This election marks a significant milestone for our HOA. The original Covenants, created by the developers over 20 years ago, have been updated to reflect the current needs of our association. The amended documents will become effective once filed with Johnson County, and we will make them available on our website shortly thereafter.
In early 2025, the Board will release a summary of the new Covenants to help residents familiarize themselves with the updated rules and restrictions.
Looking Ahead
The Covenants and By-Laws are living documents, intended to evolve with the community’s changing needs. We encourage residents to share their ideas and suggestions for future amendments. Although future changes will only require 60% approval, at least 75% participation will still be necessary—a challenging but achievable goal.
The Board appreciates everyone’s participation in this important process and once again thanks the volunteers for making this election a success!
